Have you tried to sell jewelry on a website?
I am writing this to offer you hope. I make jewelry. I design each piece. I search the world for unusual and quality materials. I have wonderful success at festivals and art and craft shows. So friends said “You must start a website!” “You will do great with a website!” and other phrases of encouragement. So, two years ago, I went on Craig’s list and found someone to construct a website for me so I could sell my jewelry. I was pretty happy with it, but I had a lot of trouble updating it and it seemed to have a lot of bugs. Means of payment was difficult and unwieldy. Nothing happened, no sales, few clicks. I blamed the site. Last year, I found a real web designer. Gina Hoover, Hoover Web Design. They put together a great sight for me. I had personal input and was very happy. The update is easy; the payment is easy, I was so happy. Nothing happened, no sales, few clicks. It couldn’t be the site. I started investigating promotion and marketing. I put ads in local papers, in the market section of some larger papers in Chicago and Washington. I added a signature to my personal e-mail with my site. I created great cards and gave them away at festivals. Nothing. Now I have started using Google’s AdWords and Qassia. I am having more clicks, but still no sales. Then I stumbled on a forum where about 20 people were discussing this same issue. All of them said the same thing. It takes a long time. Many of them had had experiences very similar to mine. Many of them had started to sell jewelry. One or two pieces. Eight or ten pieces. Dozens of pieces. I can’t tell you what it meant to me to read the experiences on this forum. It really gave me hope and enthusiasm to keep going. I thought it was only me (silly me….). It was so comforting to hear real people talking about early failure, and their slow road to success. If you are suffering the same fate, talk to other people, give suggestions, help in any way you can. You will eventually be rewarded! I hope this brief account helps you.

I think when selling anything online one must come to the realization that you are not just competing locally anymore but globally and have to adjust your strategy accordingly. You should update the Qassia link on your website to Qondio.
